Out With The Old!
Although the 'Pacers' have been the mainstay of the Oldham Loop, their passing will not be unwelcome to most passengers. The units, some nearly 25 years old, are noted for their rough riding having no bogies, unlike most trains.
However they will be missed if they are moved away from the area after closure. STORM is 'lobbying' for the retention of the 6 units to ease the chronic overcrowding on some rush hour services both on the Calder Valley and Greenfield lines.
