Do You Know this 1959 schoolboy?
This photograph shows BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T 80046 on the 16:35 Rochdale to Blackpool express
at Castleton in 1959.
It shows that a schoolboy has apparently hitched a lift on the engine.
STORM’s archivist, Richard S Greenwood, has enlarged the image of the young enthusiast and we hope the boy, who is probably in his 70’s now, may recognise himself and get in touch.
