Class 802 Testing on Calder Valley
Trans Pennine Express are testing the new class 802 passenger trains on the Calder Valley route. The test train ran from Liverpool’s Edge Hill depot via Huddersfield and Rochdale back to Edge Hill Depot.
The unit is seen crossing the original Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway bridge over Gipsy Lane in Castleton on the 25th of July 2019.
Once again the importance of the Calder Valley line is evident as the line will provide diversion routes for TPE’s services during disruptions for engineering works etc.
